GreenThumb Gardening is an established gardening business serving South East Cornwall. Our work covers regular maintenance rounds, clearing gardens that have got badly out of hand, hedge cutting, preparing and planting borders, traditional Cornish hedge work and practical outdoor jobs around the garden.
Our core area is South East Cornwall — Looe, Polperro, Fowey, Lostwithiel, Liskeard, Saltash and the surrounding villages. Larger one-off projects outside that area can still be enquired about, with any travel considered as part of the quote; routine hourly maintenance is arranged locally.
Behind the business is a proper horticultural grounding. A Level 2 Horticulture qualification completed through the Eden Project means plants are chosen, pruned and cared for with an understanding of how they actually grow — not simply cut back because it is easier. That training has been applied to gardens across Cornwall since 2018.
Our customers are homeowners and regular maintenance clients, alongside landlords, holiday and second-home owners, property managers and organisations who need a garden looked after reliably while they are not there. Some want a garden kept immaculate; others simply want it kept sensible and under control. Both are fine.
We aim to be straightforward to deal with: clear pricing, reliable communication and work done properly. Garden maintenance starts from £30 per hour, with standard bookings subject to a 4-hour minimum, and larger or one-off work individually quoted.
Cornish hedging deserves a particular mention. Repairing and rebuilding stone and turf hedge banks is a traditional skill that comparatively few gardening services offer, and it is some of the most satisfying work there is — these are structures that will outlast all of us if they are looked after properly.
